Chanter 225A, 66-67

  1. Population and dissenters: In Venottery are nine Families there is no Dissenter of any kind or sort belonging to the Parish.

  2. Public or charity schools: There is no Charity or other School. But here is lately come into the parish a person who some say, pretends to be a Quaker and I am affraid has but little regard to the dutys of Xtianity himself, and He teaches children to read and write but very likely and I am told he takes but little care to instruct them in the Dutys of our holy Religion.

  3. Alms-house, hospital or charitable endowment: Here is a Small Alms house inhabited by two or three poor persons but no endowment of any other kind in the parish.

  4. Residence upon cure: I do personally reside in my Vicaridge house at Harpford to which this little parish is Annexed, no house belonging hereto being but one presentation, Instit: &c.

  5. Curate: No Curate.

  6. Divine service at other churches: Only occasionally to Assist a neighbour in Absense or sickness.

  7. Frequency of divine service: On every Sunday once a day at this place and so likewise at Harpford. Alternately morning & evening Service at each as it <has> been the usage for many ages very likely ever since the parishes have been Annexed. Holy days are observed sometimes here and at other times at Harpford.

  8. Frequency of communion: Four times here and the same at Harpford.

  9. Number of communicants: About twelve communicants and about the the [sic] like number at Harpford thirteen if I mistake not, at Easter last.

  10. Catechising of children: I usualy begin in every year to catechise children in my Churches & both Here & Harpford on Trinity Sunday and continue to do so for six weeks or two months, my Parishioners generally Instructing their Children and servants at home.

  11. Chapels or chapels in ruins: None.
